Pay attention to the word of the LORD

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu; 

2 When they had sent unto the house of God, Sherezer and Regemmelech and their men, to pray before the LORD. 

3. And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts and to the prophets, saying, "Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?" 

4. Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying: 

5. "Speak unto all the people of the land and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye all fast unto me, even to me? 

6. And when ye did eat, and when ye did drink, did not ye eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves? 

7. Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?" 

8. And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying: 

9. Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, "Execute true judgement and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: 

10. And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart." 

11. But they refused to hearken and pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. 

12. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his Spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. 

13. Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried and they would not hear; "so they cried and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts: 

14. But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate." (Zechariah 7) 

Pay attention to the LORD´s promptings and warnings! 

He does not let himself be fooled.

Akta på Herrens ord

Och i konung Darejaves´ fjärde regeringsår hände sig att HERRENS ord kom till Sakarja, på fjärde dagen i nionde månaden, det är Kisleu. 

2. Ty från Betel hade då Saresem och Regem-Melek med sina män blivit sända för att bönfalla inför HERREN; 

3. de skulle nämligen fråga prästerna i HERREN Sebaots hus och profeterna sålunda: "Skola vi framgent hålla gråtodag och späka oss i femte månaden, såsom vi hava gjort nu i så många år?"

4. Så kom då HERREN Sebaots ord till mig; Han sade: 

5."Säg till allt folket i landet och till prästerna; När I nu under sjuttio år haven hållit faste- och klagodagar i femte och i sjunde månaden, har det då varit åt mig som I haven hållit fasta? 

6. Och när I äten och dricken, är det icke då för eder egen räkning som I äten och dricken?" 

7. Haven I icke förnummit de ord som HERREN lät predika genom forna tiders profeter, medan Jerusalem ännu tronade i god ro med sina städer omkring sig och medan Sydlandet och Låglandet ännu voro bebodda?

8. Vidare kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja; Han sade: 

9. Så sade ju HERREN Sebaot; "Dömen rätta domar och bevisen varandra kärlek och barmhärtighet. 

10. Förtrycken icke änkan och den faderlöse, främlingen och den fattige och tänken icke i edra hjärtan ut ont mot varandra." 

11. Men de ville icke akta därpå, utan spjärnade emot i gensträvighet och tillslöto sina öron för att slippa höra. 

12. Ja de gjorde sina hjärtan hårda som diamant, för att slippa att höra den lag och de ord som HERREN Sebaot genom sin Ande hade sänt, förmedelst forna tiders profeter. Därför utgick stor vrede från HERREN Sebaot. 

13. Och det skedde, att likasom de icke hade velat höra, när han ropade, så sade nu HERREN Sebaot: "Jag vill icke höra, när de ropa; 

14. utan jag skall förströ dem såsom genom en stormvind bland allahanda hednafolk som de icke känna." Så har nu landet blivit öde efter dem, så att ingen färdas där, vare sig fram eller tillbaka; ty de hava så gjort det ljuvliga landet till en ödemark.

God´s unfathomable ways

Have you thought about what people it is that you have in your nearby and why? Have you thought about why it, in particular, are those people who are part of your family, your church, those who are your friends, schoolmates, your coworkers, association comrades, neighbors or the people you meet in the street, in the store, while traveling, at the bank, the gym, the beach etc etc. Yes, the list can be made long. Have you ever thought about this? The answer is, they are there, not by accident. No, they are there because God sent them to you, for a purpose.

God sends us, not the people we want, but the people we need and on time. People to help, to comfort, support, to shape us, to find a way out of difficultes.We do not always see it when it happens, maybe not at all. But one day we will see everything in a completely different light than here on earth. 

God´s ways are unfathomable. We are here on earth to find our way home to God, to whom we belong. God made us and he longs for a relationship with us. He loves us so much, no love is comparable. In fact, God's love is not measurable. A relationship with him is the most important thing ever for us and forever and ever. 

So, thank God for the persons in your life. Not only those you love and who loves you back, but even those you feel hard to have in your life and to meet and have to do with. Ask God for the ability to look at people with his eyes. 

Remember; God also sent you into other peoples lifes! 

For a purpose!

Guds outgrundliga vägar

Har du funderat över vad det är för människor du har i din omgivning och varför? Har du funderat över varför det är just de personerna som ingår i din familj, i din församling, de som är dina vänner, skolkamrater, arbetskamrater, kurs- eller föreningskamrater, grannar eller de människor du möter på gatan, i affären, under resor, på banken, gymet, stranden etc etc. Ja, listan kan göras lång. Har du någonsin funderat över detta? Svaret är, de är där inte av en slump. Nej, de är där för att Gud sände dem till dig. För ett syfte. 

Gud sänder oss inte de människor vi vill ha, utan de människor vi behöver och i rätt tid. Människor till hjälp, till tröst, till stöd, till fostran till att formas, till att finna en väg ut ur svårigheter. Vi ser det inte alltid när det sker, ja kanske inte alls. Men en dag kommer vi att se allt i ett helt annat ljus än här på jorden. 

Ja, det är så att Herrens vägar är outgrundliga. Vi är här på jorden för att finna vår väg hem till Gud, där vi hör hemma. Gud skapade oss och han längtar efter att ha en relation med oss, att ha gemenskap med oss. Han älskar oss så mycket, ingen kärlek är jämförbar med Guds kärlek till oss. Faktum är att hans kärlek inte är mätbar. Ett förhållande med honom är det viktigaste någonsin för oss nu och för evigt. 

Så tacka Gud för människorna i ditt liv. Inte enbart de du älskar och som älskar dig tillbaka, utan även de du finner svåra att ha i ditt liv, att träffa och att ha att göra med. Bed Gud om att kunna se på människor med hans ögon!

Kom ihåg; Gud sände också dig in i andra människors liv! 

För ett ändamål!
