We come to this world in perishable bodies, with nothing but our own lives. Our spirit, our body and our soul. We had nothing with us when we were born and we can´t take anything with us when we die. So we leave this mortal life without anything but our souls. Our bodies, as God our Father, created in the beginning out of dust, will return into dust.
So why collect treasures here on earth? No, we shall collect treasures in Heaven! How do we collect treasures in Heaven? Well, for example, by striving to become like Jesus as far as it is possible and by become a doer of the word, not only a hearer. (James 1:22)
Hand on heart; How much of what we (this also applies to myself) are reading in the Bible or hear the sermon do we transform into action? By love, faith, hope, trust, surrendering all and to God our Fathers honour? Are we giving all the Glory to God? Or do our EGO´s want to keep some or even most for ourselves? Like Ananias and his wife in (Acts 5)?
God looks primarily at our hearts, not to our "incense offerings". Yes, God sees! What did Jesus say? Whoever does the will of my Heavenly Father is my brother and my sister and my mother. (Matthew 12:50)
"From Him and through Him and to Him is everything. He belongs to the honor for ever." (Rom 11:36)
So we should give for nothing what we got for nothing. It may be to give some of your time to someone who is ill, or lonely and sad. It may be to strech a helping hand to someone or invite for a meal or coffe. A moment of company. Yes, it may even be to spontaneously smile friendly and perhaps say a kind word to people we meet. Is there perhaps someone in your vicinity in need of encouragement, comfort and support in any form? Are you contacting them? Are you sharing some of your time? If anyone wants to force you to go for a mile at his service, go two, said Jesus! How do you act? Do you join? Do you give to the one who ask or do you turn away? (Matt 5:41-42)
It is so blessed to send help over the water, but what does it look like in your vicinity? Are there any shortcomings? Everything you did for one of these my little brothers (disciples) you have done for me, Jesus said. And what you did not do you have not done for me. (Matthew 25:40, 45)
Is there any lost sheep or lamb? Have you left the 99 and searched? (Matthew 18: 10-14)
Or has the love cooled? (Matthew 24: 9-13)
Are you ready to meet your Lord and Savior?
Time is short!
Are you ready?
Am I ready?
Mercy and Peace!
